On May 18th, Ariane Purdy attended the Project Kaleidoscope meeting of architects in Boston. The purpose of the meeting, in the words of PKAL's Jeanne Narum was 'to gain new insights and ideas about the future of undergraduate science facilities, and about how we can collaborate even more effectively to ensure that spaces for science now being planned are really designed to serve the future - from the perspective of the student, the institution, and the science." The discussion was lively and engaging, with many ideas about how designs can address new modes of learning and confront the challenges of economic, environmental and energy sustainability.
