Center for BioEnvironmental Research - Tulane University, New Orleans, LA
The Center for BioEnvironmental Research (CBR) occupies an 11,000 GSF renovated dorm on Tulane’s Front Campus. The building’s proximity to the Sciences and the School of Engineering makes it a good location for the CBR, which coordinates interdisciplinary research at Tulane. The two lower floors house faculty and students in an open setting with glazed offices, shared computer rooms and a visualization lab. The top floor uses a vaulted ceiling to create a student forum space for informal meetings. The CBR is home of the Green Club and demonstrates principles of Green Architecture, including daylighting, use of natural materials, and natural ventilation.
