Sustainable Commitment

Wilson Architects is deeply concerned about the impact of human activity on the environment and the global climate. We believe that by designing buildings responsibly we can help to lessen our "carbon footprint" on the earth and work toward reversing the global warming phenomena that has become firmly established as scientific fact.

In order to do this, we seek the help and cooperation of our clients. Our goal is to reduce the embodied and operational energy of the buildings we design, to be conscious of the environmental impact of the materials we specify and to give our users high quality indoor environments.

These are not new ideas at Wilson. Environmental consciousness has been innovatively incorporated into our work for three decades. We have consistently promoted sustainability through day-lighting, designing robust buildings conducive to reuse and renovation, and utilizing energy efficient engineering. These qualities are visible in our portfolio of projects.

While we are proud of our innovations, we still aim to keep current with state-of-the-art thinking in sustainability. This year alone, Wilson Architects will invest $30,000 to train and accredit our professional staff as LEED accredited professionals. We believe that the education and awareness of sustainability issues fostered by this investment will have direct impact on the product we deliver.
