America's Test KitchenCooks Illustrated
Housed in a 150-year old brick building in historic Brookline, the renovated test kitchen and food sampling laboratories for Cooks Illustrated is big enough to incorporate 5 or 6 home sized kitchens. In addition, a soundproof kitchen space was added to allow for continued food testing while episodes of the television show are filmed. High ceilings and several large windows provide extensive natural light for the testing environment.
Today the test kitchen staff consists of 33 professional cooks who develop and test recipes for their TV shows, their books, Cook’s Illustrated, Cook’s Country, and their special annual issues such as Holiday Baking and American Classics. The facility has been upgraded multiple times to incorporate new appliances and cabinetry giving the on-set kitchen area a fresh look.Back to work section
